Accurate except for widescreen. If the iPad is anything like the iTouch, you just turn it sideways. Not that widescreen would make up for no flash and only 16 GB of storage.
You know. When Apple went towards general electronics almost a decade ago, they must have sworn an oath to make feature-free shiny lumps of plastic that would be more functional as paperweights and doorstops rather than what electronics they are meant to be. Because that is exactly what they did with the iPod, iPhone, and the iPad.
The only reason they sell is because Apple is more or less a cult. Steve Jobs holds sway over a mass of technology know-nothings who honestly think the iPhones are worth it. Macs are STILL the joke of the industry, and even BSD users think OS X is a crippled garbage OS that focuses on being shiny so the average Mac user who has the IQ of a goldfish will like it.
I have a home theater system that could easily blow the failed Apple TV away, because it actually DOES STUFF.
Apple makes products that do nothing but sit there and be shiny.
This is why REAL geeks don't spend a penny on Apple products, because they know they're getting moose droppings for premium prices.
Sideways it's not widescreen, it's a 4:3 aspect ratio. it's wideR sideways, but not widescreen. It'll have the sides cropped or the black bars along the top and bottom as if you were watching a widescreen movie on an old 4:3 aspect ratio tv.
...I'm not sure you know what an iPod is. Or Apple TV.
I'm fairly certain you've never used an Apple computer, either (though my own experience with OS X is fleeting, at best).
Apple OSs are crucially similar to other operating systems in that their usefulness relies solely on the user/s to maintain it. I know people with well-kept powerbooks which are extremely potent, and I know people with newly bought, $2,500 performance PCs that run like bullshit through a sieve.
Just because a screen can be displayed wider than it is tall doesn't make it widescreen. The iPad screen is roughly 4:3 , the same as a 90's CRT monitor. A screen needs to be 16:10 minimum to be considered widescreen.
Here's a newflash, even turned sideways the iPad is not widescreen. It's much closer to 4:3 ratio, which you may remember as being the CRT monitor standard, as well as most TV's produced before 2000.
ABSOLUTE SHIT. Half these facts are wrong, while others are correct but justifiable.the iPad does have card reader support, as well as USB and Video out, it's just that you'll have to use a dongle to get that access. Wide-screen is a huge bullshit statement. Sure it's not TRUE 16:9, but it's still wide-screen lenticular. Also, the 16 GB is the BASE LINE. And that's also SOLID STATE, meaning no crashed HDD problems. So, then you only have abut 5 things to compare it too vs a tiny screend shitty EEE pc. Ok, may I also remind you of something: FIRST. GEN.
Why don't you actually give something a chance before shitting all over it in your lame PC Vs. Mac War?
Personally, I could care less if I never see another apple product again. Hell, I own a $90 no name MP3 player that has better specs than the Ipad. But let's give credit where credit is due. Apple systems ARE very good, if not the best out there for graphics and graphic design.
They crash and freeze so much, I've lost a lot of work and time to stupid mac computers. I mean, I save my projects frequently, but I'll still lose progress every time it crashes, which is quite often. A common complain in my media classes.
I grant you that there are things that netbooks do that the ipad doesn't. Having said that, allow me to add something to the above steve jobs quote to make it more accurate. "The problem with netbooks is that they aren't better at ANYTHING that matters in a portable computer."
ahaha, yea right. Apple systems are purest form of crap nowdays consideing the price you pay for it. They were superior in the time when they had motorola processors and they were so optimized for it that they were far ahead of intel or amd based computers. Today they have intel duos and quads, which makes them overpirced pc-s with virtually no ability to upgrade other then installing windows or linux and buying a proper mouse and keyboard.
And for all the apple fanboys, you are actually proving right now how ignorant and without even the basic knowledge for the technology you are with your constant efforts to prove that ipad is widescreen. Ipad is NOT widescreen no matter how you turn it dipshits, just because the screen is wider then it's higher doesn't mean it's widescreen. There are standards for screen dimensions, but you wouldn't know anything about standards, because, well, you buy apple products.
Everyone who has looked at macintosh product without swearing their soul, to purchase every last one of them, would realise that mac charges money for the "trendy" side of the market rather than functionality. I personally prefer to spend less money for more functionality. And the whole touch screen is overplayed way too much. It's the macbook air all over again. The sony notebook compared to it was slightly larger, but OH NO! IT CAN"T FIT IN THE ENVELOPE!!! I think I'll go with the Half cost slightly smaller model thank you very much.
The EEE has a solid state drive. Also 16GB HDD is ridiculous, especially when charging $500.. what's a 160GB maxiPad going to cost? $5000? All these points are totally meaningless when we look at one all-important point. Multitasking. Something COMPUTERS have had for 15+ years. The maxiPad is an overblown organiser. And choosing to continually not offer flash support is highly offensive. maxiPAD - the offensive organiser.
"iPad does have card reader support, as well as USB and Video out, it's just that you'll have to use a dongle to get that access" - So in other words it doesn't have USB, Video Out or Card reader support.
"Also, the 16 GB is the BASE LINE" - And the highest is?
"And that's also SOLID STATE" - Can't you get netbooks with that.
"Ok, may I also remind you of something: FIRST. GEN." - And may I remind you of something, no one gives a crap about what generation is, the origional product should be passable, the subsequent versions are meant to improve any potential products not completely redesign the product.
"Give it a chance"....??? it doesn't even support flash.
Accurate except for widescreen. If the iPad is anything like the iTouch, you just turn it sideways. Not that widescreen would make up for no flash and only 16 GB of storage.
Doesn't look like the creator of this actually knows much about the iPad.
Very true...but it will still be a hit. The Apple lemmings won't fail to support their god, Steve Jobs...
i lol'd
Turn the ipad on its side and it's widescreen....

No, it's not. it's about the same proportions as an old crt tv.
It has a resolution of 1024 x 768; it is not widescreen.
Sideways it's not widescreen, it's a 4:3 aspect ratio. it's wideR sideways, but not widescreen. It'll have the sides cropped or the black bars along the top and bottom as if you were watching a widescreen movie on an old 4:3 aspect ratio tv.
what info about the iPad is he missing?
You are an absolute idiot.

Dude, you rock. Epic comment.
Apple, you suck. We hate you sincerely from the bottom of our hearts.
lol, its funny because no one reads these dumb comments before commenting, or they just hate on the other comments. funny pic though
Good sir, if I could, I would give you a handshake.
You are correct on all points!
Hey. Fan Boy. Shut the fuck up.
quit jacking each other off about how much you hate apple, jesus christ
You are right! Oh, wait, you didn't say any reasons why he's an idiot... clearly you are superior, and an expert on electronics. Thanks.
I doubt it. But even if they were, they aren't.
They crash and freeze so much, I've lost a lot of work and time to stupid mac computers. I mean, I save my projects frequently, but I'll still lose progress every time it crashes, which is quite often. A common complain in my media classes.
It's missing a few...

That's why it'll sell like hell, and all your babies will be crying to sleep. Lol.
